Can you feel it in the air? The tension? The excitement? I just drove by Rhonda’s hair salon. Mom’s car was parked out front much to my relief. This means things are going smoothly and we are on schedule.
Today is grocery day for me and one of my favorite days of the week. My mother said she was getting her hair frosted today so she may be a little late, but I don’t mind. In a few moments, I will drive by Kroger and see if she’s made it there yet as well. Yeah, it is a little OCD, but I dearly love grocery shopping day. I can’t wait to see what the cookie of the week shall be.
Mom always and never fails to ask me what I am going to eat first when she pulls up to the curb for me to unload. She is living vicariously through my words. Tonight, I am chargrilling a couple of hamburgers on my little hibachi grill. In my immediate future there is two strawberry pop-tarts and a cold glass of milk. The pop-tarts will just drive Maggie crazy as well.. You know i will give her a few bites. Yes, you know me well.
Pigs Do Fly…
I thought it was a fluke at first – my father bringing me a burger every Sunday night. He brought a McDonald’s double quarter pounder with cheese value meal for me to eat last night. Maggie got the fries as I do not care for them. I was gob smacked. My father just doesn’t do these kinds of things. This is Charlie’s territory.
My father has also been very affectionate lately as well which feels strange. He will give me a hug and pat me on my knee as we sit on my couch. Have I mended a rift caused by years of alcoholism and irresponsibility?
DOCSIS 3.0 Rolls Out in Two Weeks…
A Knology technician stopped by the house this afternoon to swap out my dilapidated old cable modem and to check my cable signal strength.
“Did you put all this together yourself?” the Cable Guy asked me of my computer setup.
“I certainly did,” I boasted with a grin.
He also told me DOCSIS 3.0 rolls out in two weeks and will triple my current internet speeds.. I bet it will make my wallet three times lighter every month as well.

Does your cable co. randomly stop by to update your equipment? We have to fight to get someone to come out for our cable even when something is wrong...
Ditto on glittermom's comment. We are having to reboot our modem, by unplugging the power source and the two other cables into the device. It's really annoying. I'm not sure what's going on, but I have several friends that have had problems with their internet service as well. Yeah for AT&T. AND they just raised the rates on our service. PLEASE don't tell me it the cost of maintaining their whatever that is causing the cost hike.
